Rihanna Becomes First Black Woman To Head Lvmh Fashion House

That Rihanna reign really won’t let up. It was announced this morning that singer, designer, beauty mogul and all around boss, Bad Gal RiRi has signed on with French luxury conglomerate LVMH to establish the Fenty fashion house.

Fenty Maison will include ready to wear, apparel, accessories, sunglasses, and jewelry. We won’t have to wait long to see what Rihanna has in store for us, as the new collection will be presented on May 22nd in Paris. “Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn’t imagine a better.

Partner both creatively and business-wise, and I’m ready for the world to see what we have built together,” Rihanna told Business of Fashion.

Fenty Maison will be the first fashion label created from the ground up at LVMH since Christian Lacroix in 1987.

This venture also makes Rihanna the first Black woman to create an original brand with LVMH. Following the success of Fenty Beauty, which partnered with Kendo an LVMH beauty incubator it only makes sense that the fashion conglomerate would want in on all things Fenty. If Rihanna’s spirit of innovation, diversity, and inclusion that permeate her beauty and lingerie lines are any indication.

Then we are in for a real treat with the first Black-owned luxury fashion house, Fenty Maison.
