Don’t be fooled by the rocks that she’s got — she’s still Jenny from the block. Jennifer Lopez is engaged for the fifth time after Alex Rodriguez popped the question over the weekend with an enormous emerald-cut diamond estimated to be worth more than $1 million. The 49-year-old seems to have a preference when it comes to her matrimonial bling: square or emerald cut, only. Save for her very first ring in 1997, all have been square or elongated rectangle shapes rather than round or oval cut.
No matter who the man is on her arm, J.Lo knows what she wants on her finger. Below, see all five of her engagement rings over the years.
Lopez walked down the aisle for the first time in 1997. Though she got di-vorced from restauranteur Ojani Noa less than one year later, she sported a $100,000 marquis-cut diamond ring for a while. Later, Noa thr-eatened to release a s-x tape with the singer, who took him to court.
J. Lo’s second husband, Cris Judd, was first her backup dancer. The two met in 2000 when Judd was hired to choreograph the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” music video. After proposing with another six-figure ring — this one, an emerald cut that would later become her favorite — the pair wed in 2001. However, the marriage again lasted less than one year. “[Our wedding] was a circus,” Judd said in 2014. “I think several people got ar-rested trying to climb up a mountain … trying to sneak in. We actually rented the airspace.”
While finalizing her di-vorce from Judd, Lopez wasted no time jumping into a relationship with Ben Affleck. The two met while filming “Gigli” in 2002 and quickly became known in the media as “Bennifer.” Affleck proposed with a 6.1-carat pink diamond engagement ring from Harry Winston, worth an estimated $2.5 million, shortly after. However, just four days before they were set to walk down the aisle in 2004, the actor called the whole thing off. She has since referred to the failed relationship as her “first big heartb-reak.”
Literal days after she should have said “I do” to Ben Affleck, Lopez started a relationship with friend and singer Marc Anthony. “My way of anesthetizing the pain was different,” she wrote of Anthony in her 2014 memoir, “True Love.” “I sought out comfort in another person, tried to find someone who could make me feel loved and wanted in my loneliest hour.” Taking a cue from Affleck’s ring, Anthony proposed with an 8.5-carat blue diamond ring, also from Harry Winston, worth nearly double the previous pink stone. The two wed in 2003 and Lopez gave birth to twins Max and Emme in 2009, but sp-lit two years later.

Lopez and Antony finalized their di-vorce in 2015 and the “On the Floor” singer remained single for a while. However, in 2017, she began dating Alex Rodriguez publicly. Over the weekend, the former Yankees baseball player popped the question with a huge emerald-cut rock. Let’s hope the fifth time’s the charm!
